Day 01 : Arrive Kochi
Kochi, or more familiarly, Cochin is a city of many parts. Cochin's history is a bright tapestry - many coloured threads woven through centuries together present the fabric of the present. Afternoon will be free for independent activities.
In the evening, you will visit a local theatre to watch Kathakali dance performance.
Day 02 : In Kochi
After buffet breakfast at hotel, you will proceed to explore the city thoroughly: it’s bound to have you hooked, just like it had the Jews, visit Cochin City. You will first proceed to Mattancherry, where you will visit the oldest Jewish Synagoguein India, built in 1568; it was destroyed by the Portuguese and rebuilt by the Dutch a century later.
From Jewish Synagogue you will visit Chinese fishing nets. The cantilevered fishing nets line the entrance to the harbour mouth.
After morning breakfast you will head towards Munnar set amongst Kerala's highest mountains that form a jagged line due east of Cochin. Some of the suggested places to visit are lush green tea garden, mesmerizing lakes, dense forests. Late afternoon, you may go for a stroll in Tea Estates. Meet the local people engaged in tea Industry.
Day 04 : In Munnar
After an early breakfast, drive to Rajamalai – the tourism zone of the famous Eravikulam National Park.
Eravikulam Wildlife Sanctuary is a sanctuary set up for the preservation of the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. The main inhabitant of the park is Nilgiri Tahr. Now the park has the largest known population of Tahr's existing in the world.
Day 05 : To Elephant Valley – (Kodaikanal) – by surface / 165 kms / approx. 4 hrs
In the morning you will be transferred to Kodaikanal located amidst the folds of the verdant Pali hills is one of the most popular serene hill stations in India, which mesmerises any visitor and is frequented all through the year.
Elephant Valley. It is at an altitude of 1200 – 1300 Mt. here the climate remains moderate throughout the year. Enjoy the mountains and the many look out points with spectacular views into the low lands of Tamil Nadu.
Day 06 : To Thekkady (Periyar) – by surface /150 kms / approx. 4 hrs
After breakfast proceed to Periyar, which is also known as Periyar. It is considered as one of the finest sanctuaries for studying the Indian elephants in its home.
In the afternoon, proceed to Periyar National Park to view the wildlife by boat Situated within the confines of the Western Ghats in the southern Indian state of Kerala, Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve is one of the most captivating wildlife parks in the world. Evening explore local spice markets.
In the morning you will be assisted to Spice plantations. The aroma and pleasant ambiance of the spice and tea plantations entice tourists around the globe. Have a close look at the spice plantations and breathe in the exotic aroma of the spices.
Commence you drive to the lush backwaters of Kottayam in Kerala, lies a veritable paradise, which is called Kumarakom, or the 'Venice of the East'. Palm fringed narrow canals winding through the vast expanse of paddy fields, and the neat tiny hamlets lined up along either side of the canals are panoramic sights one can never forget.
Evening proceed for the sunset cruise on the backwaters.
Day 09: "Houseboat" on the "Backwaters"-
Today embark Houseboat a sojourn in Kettuvallams, the House boats of Kerala, offers a panoramic view of one of the most picturesque aspects of the God's Own Country.
The traditional houseboat of Kerala is one of the most enduring images of the backwaters. These houseboats are converted version of the "Kuttanadan Kettuvallams".
Through backwaters you will be reaching to Malabar Coast and disembark and from here you will be transferred to Marari Beach. After reaching here you can relax for sometime.
Here you can glimpse into the traditional fishing villages of Kerala along with their ancient sustainable life style. It also has world class Yoga and Ayurveda Center which attracts most of the tourists, concerned about health and wellness.
Drive to Cochin Airport in time to board your flight for home / onward journey.
