Boudhanath Stupa, Kathmandu

Nepal packs a lot into a small country. The Kathmandu valley alone holds seven World Heritage sites, and the snow peaks of the Annapurna range are a short flight or a day's drive away.

A first visit usually combines the old royal cities of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur with the lakeside town of Pokhara and a few days in Chitwan National Park. If you like to walk, we add gentle hill treks with lodge stays; no previous trekking experience is needed.

Nepal combines well with Bhutan or with northern India.
